On July 24, 2026, the PALETTE clinical trial platform, one of the IHU SEPSIS flagship initiatives, was officially launched at the headquarters of Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), in the presence of representatives from the General Directorate for Healthcare Services (DGOS), Vincent Vauchel, the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM), Catherine Paugam-Burtz, Inserm, Didier Samuel, and Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), Nicolas Revel.
The launch of PALETTE marks a new milestone in clinical research on sepsis. The platform aims to contribute to more personalized patient care by leveraging a precision medicine approach.
Its objective is to identify treatable traits, i.e. biological and clinical characteristics that may help guide therapeutic strategies. PALETTE will therefore enable the evaluation of different therapeutic approaches based on each patient’s specific characteristics, in both children and adults.
A collaborative effort driving clinical research
The development of this platform is based on close collaboration between institutions, researchers, research networks, and hospital teams. This collective effort is essential to advancing knowledge and improving clinical practices in the field of sepsis.
Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), which is the platform’s sponsor, Inserm, as well as the CRICS-TRIGGERSEP and RENARCI research networks, both labeled F-CRIN, are actively involved in the project.
The project also benefits from the support of the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM) in navigating regulatory procedures. Its development has been made possible through financial support from the France 2030 program and the PHRC-N national clinical research program.
Through PALETTE, the project partners aim to contribute to the development of more personalized approaches to sepsis care and to improving patient outcomes in both children and adults.
